Northwest One
CSG Urban Partners, in partnership with MRP Realty and Taylor Adams Associates, was been selected by the District of Columbia to redevelop a vacant 3.5 acre site located at the intersection of K and North Capitol Streets, NW in the NOMA neighborhood just blocks from the U.S. Capitol. The former Temple Courts public housing project, now known as Northwest One, will be transformed into a vibrant mixed-use urban project.
The CSG/MRP Team has committed to create a high quality, mixed-income community where residents are proud to live, work and play. The project, undertaken in three Phases, will include 772 total residential units including townhomes, family-sized units and permanent supportive housing units. The residential units will include 517 affordable units and 255 market-rate units at the site. The project will also include street activating neighborhood retail space, a community center and ample green space.
This project is part of the New Communities Initiative, a District of Columbia government program which was launched to support “vibrant mixed-income neighborhoods that address both the physical architecture and human capital needs, where residents have quality affordable housing options, economic opportunities and access to appropriate human services.” Northwest One is one of four neighborhoods in the District included in this initiative, which was created as a response to federal budget cuts to housing revitalization programs.
